London Heathrow Terminal Two. It’s 2007 and I’m waiting for my flight back home to Ankara (via Istanbul). It’s summer, it’s hot and I’m broke. I’m wearing this t-shirt I designed in my cramped dorm room and printed using iron-on transfer paper. I’m wandering aimlessly and the waiter at Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar sees me, reads my t-shirt and laughs. He beckons me over and offers an espresso on the house. An elderly gentleman is having white wine and snow crab. He offers me a glass; I accept. Just because they have no chance, doesn’t mean I’m not going to make the most of the chances given to me.
